Installing myPFstore
To install myPFstore onto your host, follow these steps:
- Save the myPFstore.zip file that you received in your delivery email onto your desktop or laptop.
- The file is a *.zip file, which means that it is a packed file which you need to unpack. Windows users can use a program like Winzip, 7zip or Winrar for this. Make sure you let it re-create (sub) directories.
- Upload the unpacked source tree into your webfolder (something like www or public_html, for example www-data in debian, apache on redhat linux); or a subdirectory of that if you prefer.
- Point your browser to the installation file in your web directory where the myPFstore files are located, for instance: http://www.mysite.com/install.php. This will start the installation process.
- Follow the instructions of the installer and select your configuration options using the following section.
Configure myPFstore
Once the installation page has loaded, you are presented with a number of options that affect how your myPFstore implementation will function:
- Store Name - This is the name that you want to appear on your myPFstore pages. This can be the name of your store as it appears in Printfection, or may be something else. Text Only - no HTML
- Store URL - This is the URL that you have set for your store in the Store Settings - General tab in your Printfection account. This is case sensitive, so please ensure that you type it exactly as it appears.
- Store Description - this is used for your myPFstore pages Meta Description tag. This should be as descriptive as possible for search engines. Text only, but pretty much anything you like.
- Store Keywords - this is used for your myPFstore pages Meta Keywords tag. This should contain relevant words. Text only, but pretty much anything you like.
- SEO Friendly URLs - This option will define how your store's URLs will appear. With this option turned on your store URLs will appear as complete sub directory structures (http://www.yoursite.com/shop/section/product). With this option turned off, your URLs will appear as a query string (http://www.yoursite.com/index.php?shop/section/product). Turning this on requires that your server have mod_rewrite enabled.
- Store Page - This is the file name for your main myPFstore page. This is index.php by default. You should only change this setting if you intend to rename this file as well.
- Upsell Page - This is the full URL of the location that you want shoppers sent to after they add an item to the shopping cart.
- Add Language Translation - set this to ON, to give your shoppers the option to translate your store into other languages. Uses the Google translation API and may add a slight % to your store load time. This setting also adds a US$ notation to product price display.
- Use Store Theme CSS - Set this to ON to link your myPFstore setup to the standard (non editable) CSS from your Printfection theme.
- Use Custom CSS - Set this to ON to link your myPFstore setup to the Custom (editable) CSS from your Printfection store.
- Display Footer Links - Turn this on to display the "Privacy Policy | Copyright Information | Help" links at the base of your page. You cannot turn off the powered by links to myPFstore and Printfection.
